John Cross

For most of my working life I have been employed teaching in the further and higher education sector. My areas of expertise include Conservation of Wooden Artifacts, Design History and Design Theory, I’ve taught these disciplines from pre-degree to doctoral level. My research specialism is the Furniture of the Caribbean, in particular Jamaica, where I speak and publish internationally. Since leaving the University sector I am now self-employed making, conserving wooden objects and architectural interiors as well as continuing to teach part time.

I am a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers and am looking forward to representing the Fittleworth Ward here at the District Council.
