West Sussex County Council Families Plan Adoption

This paper is to introduce the West Sussex Partnership Families Strategic Plan 2020, the plan is due to be adopted by West Sussex County Council at their November Cabinet meeting. The plan sets out how in Partnership West Sussex County Council will deliver on the “start of life” priority outcome as defined in their “West Sussex”: Our Vision for the County.  The plan will ensure the effectiveness of partnership and joint work to “help ensure that every child in West Sussex experience the best start in life so they are able to achieve their potential and for this to happen children and young people need to:

·       Be safe and secure;

·       Be in families that receive early help;

·       Have improved mental and physical health;

·       Be able to learn and be ready for school, work;

·       Have the skills to increase their independence and fulfil their ambitions; and

·       Be part of and contribute to their local community!

We as a partner will be expected to adopt the plan and this paper sets out briefly what the expectations and responsibilities for us will be and inform our decision to adopt the plan.
