The Novium Museum Options Appraisal

The Cabinet is requested to consider the confidential agenda report and its four appendices and to make the following resolutions

 

(1)  That the recommendations from Overview and Scrutiny Committee be noted and that [which is to be determined by the Cabinet at its meeting] any of the options identified in section 5 of the report either be or not be discounted.

 

(2)  That the recommendation in para 2.2 of the report be approved.

 

(3)  That the recommendation in para 2.3 of the report be approved.

 

(4)  That the Cabinet Member for Commercial Services establish a member task and finish group with representation from the Overview and Scrutiny Committee for the reason stated in para 2.4 of the report and to report back to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Cabinet.

Minutes:

The Cabinet received and considered the confidential report and its two appendices circulated with the agenda to CDC members and relevant officers only.

 

The report was introduced by Mrs Keegan.

 

Mrs Peyman was in attendance.

 

Mrs Peyman and Mr Ward responded to members’ questions on points of detail.

 

Mr Dignum advised with the Cabinet’s concurrence that there should be added to the first recommendation in the agenda report (para 2.1) the words ‘save for the filling-in of the Roman remains’. 

 

Decision

 

The Cabinet voted unanimously on a show of hands in favour of making the following resolutions.

 

RESOLVED

 

(1)  That the recommendations from the Overview and Scrutiny Committee be noted and that at this stage none of the options identified in section 5 of the agenda report be discounted save for the filling-in of the Roman remains.

 

(2)  That the recommendation in para 2.2 of the agenda report be approved.

 

(3)  That the recommendation in para 2.3 of the agenda report be approved.

The committee is requested to consider the findings of The Novium Museum Options Appraisal and to make any comments or recommendations to Cabinet.

RECOMMENDED TO CABINET

 

That the baseline and Trust options considered in the report were worthy of further consideration.
