An Energy Savings Trust report on the CDC vehicle fleet concludes that across their lifetime electric vans will save CDC money compared to conventionally fuelled vehicles. Electric vans are available that fit with the current vehicle use patterns.
It is recommended that electric vehicles (vans and cars) are procured in preference to conventionally fuelled vehicles (as part of the CDC fleet mix) unless there are significant business reasons as to why not.
RESOLVED
That the Council purchases electric vans and cars instead of conventionally fuelled vehicles unless there are significant business reasons why this is not appropriate.
