Attendance summary

Please note attendance data is available from 1 January 2015. Attendance from May 2014 can be viewed through the Library under Members Attendance. Councillors' attendance at committees and panels is recorded and published in the interests of transparency and good governance. Each councillor is expected to attend council meetings and meetings of committees where they are member of that body. Attendance at meetings is not the only role of a councillor and should not be the only test of their effectiveness. How they represent their residents and serve the community in a variety of ways is also very important.

Explanation of the statistics columns

Expected: The number of meetings that the councillor was expected to attend, whether in person or virtually, in their capacity as member of that committee. This only includes meetings for which the actual attendance status is known.
Present: The number of meetings that the councillor attended in their capacity as member of that committee.
Present, virtual: The number of meetings that the councillor attended virtually in their capacity as member of that committee.
Present, as substitute, virtual: The number of meetings that the councillor attended virtually in place of a committee member who could not attend.
In attendance, virtual: The number of meetings that the councillor attended virtually in a capacity other than committee member, for example a voluntary attendance out of personal interest for a topic being discussed.
