Information about Alcohol and Entertainment Licensing Sub-Committee

This sub-committee meets as and when required and consists of 3 Members and Substitute(s) selected on each occasion by the Head of Housing & Environment Services from the 15 members of the Alcohol & Entertainment Licensing Committee.

 

It determines the following under the Licensing Act 2003 including the imposition of appropriate conditions on Licences:-

 

1.         Applications for personal licences – if a Police objection

 

2.         Applications for personal licences with unspent convictions – all cases

 

3.         Applications for Premises Licences/Club Premises Certificates – if an adverse relevant representation subsists*

 

4.         Applications for provisional statements – if an adverse relevant representation subsists*

 

5.         Applications to vary Premises Licences/Club Premises Certificates – if an adverse relevant representation subsists*

 

6.         Applications to vary Designated Premises Supervisors – if a Police objection

 

7.         Applications for transfer of Premises Licences – if a Police objection

 

8.         Applications for Interim Authorities – if a Police objection

 

9.         Applications to review Premises Licences/Club Premises Certificates – if an adverse relevant representation subsists*

 

10.      Decisions to object when Local Authority is a consultee and not the relevant authority considering the applications – all cases

 

11.      Determinations of an objection to a Temporary Event Notice – all cases

 

12.      (*Most cases will be considered by a Sub Committee but the Head of Housing & Environment Services may refer the determination of a case to the Alcohol & Entertainment Licensing Committee instead if he considers it merits their attention).

 

To determine the following under the Gambling Act 2005 including the imposition of appropriate conditions on licences:-

 

1.         Applications for premises licences – where representations have been received and not withdrawn.

 

2.         Application for a variation to a licence – where representations have been received and not withdrawn.

 

3.         Applications for a transfer of a licence – where representations have been received and not withdrawn.

 

4.         Application for a provisional Statement – where representations have been received and not withdrawn.

 

5.         Review of a premises licence

 

6.         Application for club gaming/club machine permits – where objections have been made and not withdrawn

 

7.         Cancellation of club gaming/club machine permits

 

8.         Decision to give a counter notice to a temporary use notice
