Purpose:

To seek cabinet approval of the creation of a new rural settlement for Rural Rate Relief purposes.
Businesses located in rural settlements with a population below 3,000 will not pay business rates if the business is either:
• The only village shop or post office, with a rateable value of up to £8,500; or
• The only public house or petrol station, with a rateable value of up to £12,500

RESOLVED

 

That the amended Rural Settlement List be approved for publication as set out in the appendix to the agenda report subject to a further check of the boundaries by the Head of Finance and Governance Services.
